Cold Process Soap

Cold process soap is a handmade, artisanal soap that relies on the heat generated by a chemical reaction between the fatty acid and the base. This means that cold-processed soaps are made without any external heat source, unlike many commercial mass-produced bars.

Cold process soaps are made with organic, natural ingredients like lye and oils. The lye reacts with the oils to create a chemical reaction that produces saponification and glycerin. The more alkaline your soap batter is, the higher temperature it will reach during saponification!
